ABOUT THE BUILD

The overarching aim of this project was to create a place where family and friends could continue to cherish the beauty and virtues of this lakeside property now and into the future. A beloved property, in the family for years, the client wanted to create a legacy project that could offer refuge and relaxation at the lake, but also endure the harshness of northern Wisconsin’s climate zone 7. The client chose to design this house to be passive house certified ensuring that it would be comfortable, durable, energy efficient, healthy, and resilient. With sweeping views of the lake to the south and the west from the kitchen, dining, and living area the client and their guests will feel as close to nature as possible, but afforded with the protection and warmth of a passive house designed envelope. This home will use approximately 85% less energy than a code-minimum house of the same design.
